Happy Birthday, Brynlee!

Our sweet girl is two years old today! A sweet, but oddly terrifying two year old.

I thought waking up to a room full of balloons would put a smile on a toddler's face.
I was wrong. 

 It is absolutely mind boggling to me that Brynlee is now two. Wasn't she just born a few days ago? Why is it that the days are so so long, but the years just fly day? Did I soak everything in? Did I miss anything? Did I take for granted the days when she was still a baby? Am I being the best mom for her? Is she enjoying her little life?
These have been the questions on my mind lately as I slowly come to terms that our little girl is another year older. Each day as she snuggles with me and asks me to hold her I've been holding on just a little longer. Soaking in every possible moment I can before I blink and all of a sudden she's 18. Ugh, here come the tears. 

 At this age birthdays don't mean much to toddlers, but I'm convinced we celebrate and throw parties mostly for ourselves. Because let's be honest... we deserve to party for getting through another year with kids, right? We didn't have an actual party this year, but we did have lots of sweets and I may have spoiled her a little with a lot of presents. We went to target TWICE yesterday! That's not good for anyone's wallet. But yay! Mommy made it through another year!!

What a year it has been.. Even with the new found love for tantrums, this year has been so amazing. Watching her learn and grow each day fills me with such love and joy. At the age of two Brynlee knows the ABCs, can count to 20 (usually with a missing number here and there), she knows the shapes, colors, animals, and animal sounds. She loves puzzles and toys that make her think. She loves to be read to. And she loves to sing and dance.  She is unbelievably strong willed and sassy. Her personality is one of a kind and she just has so much love in her heart. I try to keep in mind that even know she can be a jerk sometimes at least she's really smart. So I mean.. she has that going for her, right? Is it cool to brag about your kids?






To our sweetest little hellion of a daughter - happy birthday!  We are wishing you all the joy and happiness in the world that you can feel in between tantrums. We wish you to find many adventures this next year of your life - expect for climbing on the table and trying to scale the bookshelf.. please stop doing that.  And we wish for you to always know how much we absolutely adore you in every way possible. Yeah, even when you are being crazy.
Thank you for making us parents, babe. You have definitely given life a new meaning for us.
And you definitely make life more crazy.
