Guys!! I was able to do a craft today!
It was a kids craft, but it counts!
It's been so long!
So my friend Rachel and I really like these salt/ flour dough projects. We actually did one for Valentines Day, but I never documented it. This time I figured I'd show you how!
It's super easy so don't get too excited.
What you will need -
1 cup flour
1 cup salt
1/2 warm water
Paint
Seriously, how simple is that?
Wait, it gets easier.
Mix ingredients together ( not the paint.. that comes later, obviously.) We have figured out its much easier to mix with your hands! So get a little dirty!
Roll into a nice little ball and there you have it! Dough!
Next you will want to cut the dough in half (this recipe is good for 2 pumpkins so if you need less just half the recipe) take a little chunk out of your half to use for the pumpkin stem. Make your best pumpkin shape!
Now you are going to need a baby/ kid. If you don't have one I'm sure you can find one at your nearest park.
Woaaaah, just kidding!
Rachel and Lia doing her hand print!
Place your baby's hand or foot in the pumpkin. Press firmly to make sure you get all the fingers and toes! You can either do one of each, two feet, two hands, or just one! I chose to do just her foot ( she has her daddy's big feet.)
See? Huge!
Next step is to bake! Rachel has found if you let the dough dry a little on its own first it cooks a lot better. I left mine out for an hour before baking. Bake at 200 F for 3 hours
Once your cute little pumpkin has baked and cooled it's time to paint!
Such an easy and cute little craft! And so great to do with your kiddos any time of year! Hope you all enjoyed :)
Some bonus pictures of the girls because they are adorable!
